From 2024…

“I started EMDR therapy in 2019 but I’ve been with Jess since 2020, and it’s been such an emotional, empowering, and necessary journey. I’ve always felt like I’ve needed to mirror other people’s thoughts an behaviors as my own, but EMDR has made me so much more comfortable in my mind and body. I’ve tried talk therapy but EMDR gets right to the point, and I think that’s why it’s so effective.

I had childhood trauma that was left untouched for almost a decade, but Jess created such a safe space for me to process through every part of my trauma, which was so difficult but so healing. It’s crazy how much childhood trauma can affect your daily life until you stop and really process through it. It’s helped me recognize red flags in people around me, create boundaries with my parents and siblings, and recognize who and what I want to prioritize in my life. There’s no way I would have been able to do that by myself.”

“I have been one of Jessica Beatty’s clients for about three and a half years now. I was seeing another therapist who I didn’t feel I was making much progress with. I received a recommendation from a friend to give Jessica a try and I am so glad that I did.

Jessica’s passion is EMDR. She and I have used EMDR with a number of challenges I have been dealing with in my life, specifically surrounding relationships with family members. During my sessions with Jessica, I have come to many realizations and “aha” moments. EMDR has helped me find the strength within myself to have more self-control, more positive thoughts, and better communication with my family. EMDR has also made me a more reflective person, which has helped me to really see situations for what they are. While EMDR doesn’t erase any obstacles or challenges you may face, it does help to give you the tools you need to better navigate through them. Jessica combines talk therapy and EMDR, which for me has been very helpful as I feel they go hand in hand.

I would highly recommend Jessica to someone looking to give EMDR a try. She is the perfect amount of professional and personable. It is evident that she is extremely passionate about her work and cares for the well-being of her clients. Jessica is very kind, down to earth, and is a great listener.”

“I feel calmer. My mind is quieter. I don't worry about things as much. My thoughts usually seem more positive. I’ve been getting EMDR for 4 years, since 2020. I have less symptoms or triggers but some are still there. I just do not have the mood swings before EMDR. I feel overall happier and more relaxed. My relationships with my partner and family have greatly improved! I don't judge people as much and I am not nearly as controlling as I was before EMDR. My social anxiety has gotten better, too. I did talk therapy for years, and while it helped to a certain point, it didn't help as much as EMDR has with triggers and emotional contentment. I have revelations a day or more after treatment. It's really magical. I love it!  Jessica is a true professional and EXCELLENT with EMDR and overall care.”

“I am so thankful to have found Jess and EMDR. I came to Jess to help cope with infertility after trying talk therapy several times. EMDR helped me to heal trauma and hidden feelings I didn’t know I had held on to from all areas of my life. While I went to EMDR for infertility, I have noticed impacts in all areas of my life - far less anxiety, more confidence, and overall resilience. Sitting down with Jess is like sitting down to talk with a friend. She genuinely cares about helping her clients on a deep level. I have referred friends to Jess, all of which are equally as thankful to have found her! I highly recommend EMDR at Hopeful Tomorrows. “

“In 2021, I realized I was dealing with significant anxiety as a result of 30+ years of chronic pain from a degenerative medical condition. I began EMDR therapy with Jessica at Hopeful Tomorrows and in the three years since,  I can definitively say my stress and anxiety from past traumatic medical experiences has dramatically reduced. I no longer feel as anxious or upset when I recall those life-changing moments. And I am able to think about my present and future health with greater clarity and peace of mind because it no longer evokes emotional or physical stress to do so.

Although I was compelled to seek therapy because of my medical complications, we have also been able to identify and address some behaviors that have been roadblocks in other areas. Jessica is an incredible listener and her attentive and thoughtful approach allows her to connect behaviors that I don’t always see as impacting other parts of my life. I have improved my ability to clearly express my feelings and also learn to be a more active and empathetic listener.”

“Jess is absolutely amazing! I started having sessions with her in May of 2023. In the time I have worked with her, she has helped me to work through so many memories I never thought I would be able to process. EMDR has helped me to shift the way I think about traumatic events in my life. I finally understand and believe that traumatic things that happened to me in my life are not my fault. I have also noticed a significant decrease in some of my triggers, symptoms of depression/ anxiety, and in how I react in situations.

An example of how EMDR has changed my life is that I am learning to communicate and set boundaries better than ever. In the work I have done with Jess, we have identified negative patterns in my life and are working to prevent those patterns from occurring again in the future. EMDR has also helped me with my personal relationships and understanding other people better. It has taught me to be more patient not only with myself, but with everyone. I have also become more mindful to the fact that I am a people pleaser. I am recognizing this more now and am better able to not fall into this pattern anymore.

I have experienced other therapy settings and wanted to try EMDR as something new. Prior to EMDR, I felt as though something was missing. EMDR has helped me to address the root causes of my behaviors and responses to things. It has helped me to truly understand why I have acted and thought the way that I have. EMDR helps you process core issues that you may have never really even thought about previously.

Jess is a very genuine, kind, thoughtful, understanding, considerate, and all around wonderful person. I feel so blessed to have had the privilege to have sessions with such a wonderful soul. Since working with Jess, I now feel more at peace. She is simply the best and I highly recommend working with her if you are looking to do EMDR! I look forward to continuing my work in sessions with her to see how else I can improve!”

“EMDR has played a big role in my healing process so far. As someone who has felt stuck and unsafe in various situations and relationships, I'm noticing that I will now often look for options and seek out opportunities rather than defaulting to believing that I don't have any. I'm also starting to see and believe that I can create my own sense of safety rather than feeling like I'm being overpowered by situations, people, fear and past traumas. I have continued learning to love and trust myself through this process, which is incredibly empowering. It feels like my world isn't so small and restricted as it was, and I'm starting to take more steps in the direction I want my life to go. Jess has been a wonderful counselor and guide throughout all of my progress in EMDR. She's worked with me on past traumas as well as helping to ease anxiety for upcoming situations. She's helped me through some incredibly hard and life-altering times and always makes sure that I feel supported. She is great at what she does, in skill and compassion. I'll be forever grateful for her dedication, kindness, and support.”

“The negative beliefs I had about myself were so ingrained into me, I honestly didn't know there was any other way to think about myself. Now that I have used EMDR therapy to rewire my brain, it's like night and day. I used to believe that I deserved to have bad things happen to me and there wasn't anything I could do to change that. Now, I actually feel good about who I am as a person. It's changed my life by not only helping me to resolve past traumas, but it has also helped me to not get triggered by the same situations. I would encourage anyone that hasn't had success with regular talk therapy, to try EMDR to see if it will help them too! “
